THE COMPLETE PACKAGE

INTEGRATING ONGOING PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT WITH YOUR PERSONAL FINANCIAL PLAN

This ongoing service option is offered to you upon completion of The Foundation Service. Financial planning and portfolio management work together as a process, not one-time events independent of each other.

Virtual, 24-7, Secure Access to Your Personal Financial Plan Combined With Financial Advice

Your tailored comprehensive personal financial plan developed with The Foundation Service is virtually available to you any time you wish and where we collaborate to address the expected and unexpected changes that will occur as you live your life and as you pass from one life phase to another.

With 24-7 secure account-linking you are able to update your outside financial accounts and liabilities, which helps to keep your personal financial plan updated each time you log in to view progress towards your financial goals.

Together, we conduct annual reviews of your progress towards your financial goals.   A "What if Worksheet", which allows us to create up to five alternative scenarios and compare results side-by-side, is a great feature that allows us to modify assumptions, make recommendations, and stress test all of your scenarios at once.

In between those annual reviews you have access to some interactive features:

  • Play Zone®, which is a fast and easy way for you to “slide” your way to a scenario you like. This feature allows you to create, save, and compare your customized scenario to the Recommended Scenario. Play Zone® makes it fun and easy to try new possibilities for those variables you control, such as how much you save or what age you retire.
  • What Are You Afraid Of, which allows you to see the effects of variables on your Recommended Scenario that you can not control, such as the impact of a Great Recession Loss, Social Security cuts, or living too long.

The result? You will make informed and better decisions, while at all times knowing that we will wisely guide you with specific suggestions and tasks through the complex and ever-changing financial landscape as you travel through life.

Annual Tax Evaluation & Planning

Annual Tax Evaluation & Planning

Tax planning is central to good financial planning and cash flow management. Every year we project your tax liability and take steps to try to:

  • take advantage of zero capital gains tax rates,
  • avoid short-term capital gains,
  • avoid the net investment income tax,
  • plan your deductions wisely,
  • keep your adjusted gross income at levels that avoid higher Medicare premiums, as applicable,
  • help you make adjustments to your W-4, and
  • advise you when to pay estimated taxes.

We also provide multi-year tax projections and planning for complex situations, for example, when the sale of investment properties is under consideration, the exercise of incentive stock options, or the sale of vested restricted stock.

Tax planning can save you hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Ongoing Risk Exposure Analysis and Insurance Plan Review

Ongoing Risk Exposure Analysis and Insurance Plan Review

As you move through the different phases of life your exposure to some types of risk will diminish and to other types it will increase. If you are a small business owner or you serve on a board of directors you will have additional exposure to risk. Examples of types of risk exposure include, but are not limited to:

  • becoming sick or injured for an extended period of time and not being able to work, possibly leaving you without a paycheck,
  • dying too young and leaving your family without your income for support,
  • getting in a car accident and it's your fault,
  • your home gets flooded, and
  • you are older and need home care or nursing home care.

We continually evaluate your exposure to all types of risk and recommend steps and risk exposure protection through various types of insurance policies.

Having a gap in your risk management plan could ruin everything you've worked for years to build and could leave your loved ones in dire straits.

Ongoing Review of Your Estate Plan and Documents Related Thereto

We advise you and direct you, if needed, to qualified attorneys to draft appropriate documents to protect your estate, estate planning wishes, and you if you are not in a condition to handle your own financial and other affairs.

Properly prepared estate and incapacity planning documents:

  • let you direct to whom, when, and how your assets will be disbursed upon your death,
  • establish a written plan to take care of you if you are unable to make decisions for yourself, and
  • include strategies to possibly reduce and address the payment of estate taxes, if applicable.
Ongoing Education & Checklists

Ongoing Education & Checklists

We provide educational opportunities and checklists throughout the year to:

  • increase your understanding of financial planning subjects that could impact your personal financial plan,
  • provide you with timely calls to action, and
  • to keep you in preparation mode instead of reaction mode.
